Hello and Welcome

I am studying abroad in the United Kingdom, for a whole semester at Edge Hill University located about 20 min train ride north of Liverpool.
I will try to update this blog at least once a week, but may only be able to once a month.
I will add information about my travel experiences I have encountered, be them about activities, food, people or places.

My London Experience

Okay. So it was a bitter sweet trip to London for me. My good friend went home, she is really sick and it turns out that the burn she got is even worse than we originally suspected. It is very scary, and my heart goes out to her. I miss her so much already.

London was amazing. After I dropped her off at the airport, I took the Tube to my Hostel, Clink 261. I won’t lie. The hostel was not a great place. The people working there were rude sometimes, and seemed like they were just there for a payday. They were not very welcoming nor was the atmosphere that great. The place was kind of dirty, and the rooms were small. But there were some up sides. There was this great guy working the front desk when I got in and he really helped. Check-in was at 11am, and I got in at 6:30am. He let me check in early into a room and that was greatly appreciated since I only got about 2 hours of sleep the night before. There was free continental breakfast, great showers, and the beds were very comfy.

After I woke up it was around 9am and went and got some free breakfast :-)
It was nice to eat something and it was nice to relax with a full belly.
I went back to sleep and got back up around noon. I decided I spent enough of the day indoors so I went to explore London.
It was a truly exhilarating experience.
I went around London, ON MY OWN. I took the tube, found SoHo, Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace, and a few other sights, that my camera sadly didn’t have battery life for.
It was a truly magnificent experience, to just go somewhere without a plan and find my way around it. I loved it. I just wish I could have done it with my friend.

Later that night I met up with the girls I met at Hatters Hostel (PROOF that you can meet good friends in Hostels!!) at Vapiano's. It was a really nice Italian restaurant. The food was great and reasonably priced. The only critique for it was it reminded me of a lunchroom, with seating that you have to find on yourself, and food you go up to order with a tray. I loved it though.
